Conditions A–Z lists nearly 200 conditions veterans claim. You can search by the name your doctor used, another name for it, or the diagnostic code from your decision letter (like 9905 or 6399-6350). You can also browse by letter, or narrow the list by body system or by how VA rates the condition. Each one shows:

• whether it has its own code in VA’s rating schedule, is rated by analogy to a similar condition, or is rated by the problems it causes

• the code VA usually uses

• the page on our site that explains it

If your condition isn’t listed, it can still be rated: VA must rate it like the closest listed condition (38 CFR § 4.20). Use the Symptom Checker or the Rated by Analogy guide to find where it fits.
