Veteran/Survivors Pension

Veterans Pension isn’t disability compensation. Compensation pays for a service-connected condition no matter what you earn. Pension is a tax-free monthly payment for wartime veterans who are 65 or older or disabled and have limited income, and the disability doesn’t have to be connected to service. Because the Gulf War period never officially ended, anyone who served since August 2, 1990 can meet the wartime requirement, deployed or not. This free guide explains who qualifies, the 2026 rates, and how VA figures your payment. It shows why out-of-pocket medical costs like in-home care and assisted living can make a high income qualify, and what Aid and Attendance and Housebound add. It also covers the net worth limit and 3-year look-back, how Survivors Pension works when a veteran passes away, and how to spot pension scams. Use the free estimator to see what you might get, and remember that no one can charge you to apply.
