2027 VA Disability Pay Rates:
Official 3.6% COLA
On October 14, 2026, Social Security announced the official 2027 cost-of-living adjustment (COLA): 3.6%. VA disability pay goes up by the same percentage each year. The new rates start December 1, 2026, and show up in the payment you receive around January 1, 2027. You don’t need to do anything, because the increase is automatic. Use the free calculator below to see your 2026 and expected 2027 pay side by side. You can enter a spouse, children under 18, children in school, dependent parents, Aid and Attendance and SMC. The tables and chart below show the amounts for every rating. VA’s raise becomes final when Congress passes and the President signs the yearly Veterans’ COLA law. Congress has passed it every year. VA then posts its official 2027 tables, and if any amount differs, VA’s table controls. Veterans Claims Education provides free educational information only and does not assist with or file claims.
